We were thrilled to dive into the world of regional storytelling at the National Association of Regional Councils Annual Conference with panelist Desira Blanchard, Communications and Community Engagement Manager at NVCOG.

Desira explored the transformative power of regional storytelling, re-branding, and communications in shaping perceptions and attracting investment. Discovering how unique stories, heritage, and cultural richness create a sense of belonging and pride was truly inspiring. #RegionsLead

All three panelists were photographed at the event, including:
- Michelle Nance, Regional Planning Director, Centralina Regional Council
- Miguel Segura, Director of Public Affairs & Regional Development, Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG)
- Desira Blanchard, Communications and Community Engagement Manager, Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments

As guests at the NARC Regions Annual Conference, we had the pleasure of attending the panel where James Hannig City of Detroit Government and Matt Hart from Capitol Region Council of Governments - CRCOG shared valuable insights on transportation safety in #VisionZero and #CompleteStreets programs. Thanks to Council Member Alan Wapner for moderating the panel. Let’s continue our commitment to safer streets! #RegionsLead

NVCOG has been awarded an additional $3 million through the Bipartisan infrastructure Law (BIL) to replenish their Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) program. Funding will support more cleanup projects in underserved areas, accelerating revitalization efforts in the Naugatuck Valley Region.

Check out these photographs from the press conference, featuring the former Button Factory at 835 South Main Street in Waterbury. While the conference was taking place, active excavation was underway at the site. This dynamic scene exemplifies our commitment to driving revitalization efforts forward.

Thank you to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for your continued support! #BrownfieldCleanup #EPA
