Explore the Transportation Guide to the Greater Naugatuck Valley, a comprehensive resource offering valuable information on routes, schedules, and facilities. Its primary purpose is to foster public engagement and collaboration for the continual improvement of regional transportation options.
Origin and Purpose
The Transportation Guide to the Greater Naugatuck Valley Region is an important guide that traces its roots to half a century ago. Its earlier versions provided information about all the public and quasi-public and transportation serving the erstwhile Central Naugatuck Valley Region. This new, updated, and revised edition, picking up from a forty-four hiatus presents a storehouse of information about routes and schedules for various inter- and intra-city buses and trains services within our region. It also lists aviation facilities available as well as freight restrictive bridges within our region. Finally, it itemizes the various commuter parking lots within our region – with their locations, transit accessibility options and utilization rates over the last three years.
Public Engagement
These are part of our public engagement efforts in making information available about transit options to visitors and residents alike, especially those who do not have access to an automobile or choose not to drive. It is hoped that the public will make good use of this guidebook, and that we are provided with suggestions on how we can, together, make transportation better in our region.
The Current Edition
Released in November 2023, the final draft represents the first print edition of the Regional Transportation Guide.
