300 Broad Street, Bristol Public Informational Meeting

An informational public meeting will be held on July 10, 2024, at 6:30PM in room 1-2 of Bristol City Hall, located at 111 North Main Street in Bristol, CT 06010 to provide a summary of proposed cleanup activities associated with the development of 300 Broad Street, Bristol, CT 06010.

The following information is provided in accordance with Section 22a-133k-1(d)(1) of the Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs), which satisfies public notice requirements in Section 22a-134a(i) of the Regulations of Connecticut States Agencies (RCSA). The project will include the remediation of the Site’s soils in accordance with Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) RSRs. The CTDEEP Remediation ID# assigned to the Site is 11650. The remediation will consist of concrete removal and soil excavation with offsite disposal and/or relocation onsite. In addition, an Environmental Use Restriction will be utilized to manage impacted soils that will remain in place. The goal of the remediation of the property is to revitalize the Site for productive manufacturing use, occupied by business ranging from light to medium manufacturing and multi-industry storage and distribution centers.

The attendees will be provided with an overview of the Alternative Brownfield Clean up Analysis and Proposed Remedial Action Plan. Time will be allotted for questions or comments from the public.

The public may review the environmental documents by appointment or walk-in at the Office of the Mayor, located in Bristol Town Hall during business hours of 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Plans are also available for public review by visiting www.bristolct.gov or http://nvcogct.gov/event/300-broad-street-bristol-public-informational-meeting. Comments, written statements or questions relative to the proposed environmental activities may be submitted to Ricardo Rodriguez from NVCOG at 49 Leavenworth Street, 3rd Floor, Waterbury, CT 06702 or at rrodriguez@nvcogct.gov. The public review process will remain open for 30 days from the date of this notice.

The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) is holding a public information meeting to present key updates on upcoming work and answer public inquiries regarding environmental cleanup activities at 281 Canal Street, Shelton. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 6:30 PM and will be held in the auditorium in Shelton City Hall, located at 54 Hill Street, Shelton, CT 06484.
