Activities: NVCOG’s Revolving Loan Fund Committee awarded the city of Shelton a $400,000 subgrant for remedial activities at adjacent parcels along Canal Street that contains the remnants the former Samarius Electronic Corporation, Chromium Process, and Axton Cross industrial complexes. Redevelopment plans call for the construction of a mixed-use development incorporating more than 100 mixed-income apartments and 1,745 square-feet of commercial space within Shelton’s downtown district. Redevelopment plans also include a publicly accessible outdoor area and new walkway connecting to the Shelton Riverwak. The city of Shelton and NVCOG have executed a subaward agreement.
