Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan: Thomaston

The primary purpose of a Natural Hazard Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan is to identify natural hazards and risks, existing capabilities, and activities that can be undertaken by a community or group of communities to prevent loss of life and reduce property damages associated with identified hazards. Once a community has a FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plan, the community is then eligible to apply for Pre-Disaster Mitigation project funds and certain other funds for mitigation activities.
