On Thursday, November 7, 2019, Governor Ned Lamont released the plan to update transportation features across the state. This plan includes highway and transit projects in the Naugatuck Valley region:
- New rail cars and locomotives for the Waterbury Branch Line
- Accessible rail stations along with a digital fare system
- Traffic flow improvements in Seymour, Southbury, and Oxford.
- Bringing bridges into good condition on Route 8 and Interstate 84
